Its One Thing After Another!

For the past few months I had been having problems with my car, I took it into a shop and they told me what they thought it was and then proceeded to tell me it was going to cost me my life savings to fix. My car wasn't starting properly and it seemed as though the starter was failing. Which is a simple fix and I figured I could do it myself when it got worse, I eventually got tired of the problem (because it wouldn't start) and attempted to fix it myself. I put in a new starter that I got for a fraction of the price that the shop claimed it would cost, and still my car wouldn't start. I tried everything possible that I could do myself and still nothing. So I ended up taking it back into the shop and this time they found what the real problem was a fixed it. The ignition switch was bad, only a $50 part! The frustrating part is that all the trouble I faced would have never happened if the shop would have diagnosed my car correctly in the first place, they just assumed it was the starter causing the starter problem, and so did I. But now my car is running good, almost like new!

Now that I got my car running good and things seem to be going smoothly I would hope that I could have a few weeks of 'no worries'!

Only a few days after I am relieved of the stress of costly automotive repairs I get a phone call from my bank. Someone in Georgia attempted to purchase items from a Walgreen's with my debit card number and an online transaction was made. The bank denied the Walgreen's charge but not the online one and after a few hours on the phone I got my card number canceled and now I don't have a debit card to access my money. I have no idea how this idiot in GA got my number but they did, and now I have to wait and see what happens with the online charge. The bank told me to keep a close watch on my accounts for a while and now that I canceled the card there shouldn't be a problem. I got home from work and checked all my accounts and all seemed ok, so I decided to get my free credit reports to make sure all was well there. Two of the three credit agencies claimed I could not get my report because there was some conflicting information between their records and mine and all I could do is mail in documents and wait and see! Now I have no idea where my credit stands, all I know is there is something of concern. The worst of this is that there isn't much I can do other then hope these all knowing credit agencies can keep their records straight.

Whats Next?

Brian be pushy! Bug them. That happened to me after our last visit to LV I used my card one time and thats all it took. The bank supposedly has insurance to cover that stuff so nag them about it.
