Once we left New Orleans things got a little crazy. Instead of heading to Virginia to spend a couple days on the beach we ended up going to a funeral. Brian's grandma had passes away while we were traveling. We didn't have any clothes to wear so we borrowed clothing. I only met Brian's grandmother once so I didn't really know her, but from going to the funeral, I think I would have liked her. From what I could tell, she loved everyone and would do anything for you. She had a lot of spunk and probably some girl power in there. Although I didn't know her the song that kept coming to my mind was Mustang Sally.
When we left Virgina our adventure got a little hairy. We decided to take a Ferry ride, which was really nice and relaxing (probably not for the dogs, but it was for me).

Cape May-Lewes Ferry

Driving onto the Ferry

We saw a lot of lighthouses

We saw a lot of dolphins jumping out of the water, but they were too fast for me to catch on camera. This is the best shot I got

We also saw seagulls swooping down to eat out of the ocean

More scenery from the Ferry ride

Buddy and Bandit checking out the Ferry

Bandit doesn't know if he likes the Ferry or if he is seasick.
However, when we got off the Ferry our GPS kept telling us to go back, it was really wigging out. When we hit New York city (in rush hour traffic, it was getting dark and in a thunder/lightning/rain storm) the GPS put us on a different road than Brian's parents (they came along to help us move in to our new home and do a little site seeing) and the GPS proceed to tell us to take an exit in the Bronx. I refused to do so. I did have maps, but I did not have a map of the Bronx, only Manhattan and New York state. We had also ran out of money to pay for tolls. I'm only guessing that the route we took had more tolls than the original route. Anyways, the GPS finally put us on a scenic road that ran right next to the road we should have been on. This must have been a blessing in disguise, because this road had no tolls at all. Later Brian said that we should not only rely on a GPS, we should map things out before hand and know where we are going. I related this to life. We can not solely rely on Heavenly Father to tell us what we need to do or how we need to live our life. We need to have a plan and prepare for things to come and then ask heavenly father for guidance and he will let us know if we are going in the right direction. That day was very long, a 10 hour drive turned into a 15 hour drive. We arrived at my sister's house in Boston, briefly slept, grabbed our stuff and headed up to Vermont.
** Thank you Brittni and Jim. We seem to have a way of crashing at your house and never getting a chance to hang out with you guys. We promise that we will come visit you, to see and hang out with you. We are really looking forward to doing that.
** Thank you Charlie and Linda, I know that we were really scattered, but having you guys there to help clean and take us around was really nice.
Vermont is defiantly the complete opposite of Las Vegas. We live in a tiny town, the smallest town I have ever lived in and I have gone to college in some really small towns. To give you an idea of just how small it is, we went to set up power in our name and when we gave them our address, they said that they didn't have that address, but how about an "Old Brick House" South Royalton, VT. So far, I really like it. The summer here is perfect, in the mid 70s to mid 80s in the day time and then cools down to the mid 50s at night. That is my kind of weather! There are a lot of activities put on through the Law school and the local communities. We go to a farmers market every Thursday. There was a Scottish festival last weekend (We couldn't go, but wanted to) and there is a World Fair in a couple of weeks. I am a member of a "Partners Group", meaning I'm married, dating, etc. someone in the Law school. We have monthly dinners and then other opportunities to get together. We have also met other young people at church and went hiking with them last Sunday. There is so much I could tell you and so many new and very strange experiences, but I think you get the idea for now. More to come at a later date, but here are some pictures of the house we are renting.

Front Door

Once you enter, there is the living room to the left. (The fireplace has been closed up)

Once you enter, there is the very large dinning room/kitchen area to your right. We have divided this area into a sitting room where the dogs play...

a dining room, kitchen and a computer desk area

There is a hallway off of the kitchen (This is the view from there). Down this hallway is the basement access, our tiny bathroom and another bedroom that has nothing in it. (We are used to a small one bedroom apartment and really don't have a use for that room)

Once you enter the house, and you go up the stairs...

you will probably find Bandit at the top of the stairs playing with toys or chewing on a bone.

At the top of the stairs and to the left is our bedroom

At the top of the stairs and to the right is Brian's office, where he happens to be studying boogers right now. (He is doing his default pose with his finger up his nose)

We finally made it!
