I decided to get back into shape at the beginning of the year. I worked out religiously for two months and then March came and I just stopped, for no really good reason.
Well I started my workout routine again. I always hate the first week of working out. I'm never really that sore because I take it slow, but everything you do is just so hard, there is no joy in it.
Today was a beautiful day outside, so I rushed home threw on my running gear and took a nice 2 and half mile run while the sun was still out. I have to say it was really refreshing and geared me up to keep up on my workouts.
When I used to run cross country (about 10 years ago) I used to think people were just whining when they said they couldn't run anymore they had to walk. When my legs got tired they would kind of go numb and with the right breathing exercises you never had to stop. Not that I'm old - but now that I'm old-er, my legs don't hurt but my joints do - my hip was hurting along with a slight knee ache and an ankle pain, this made me think - I've got to stop my body can't take it anymore. But I just turned up the music on my mp3 player and kept pace with the beat.
I'm hoping for more gorgeous days like today - I welcome Spring with open arms!

I also love to run. It just feels good. However, our gym has individual TVs hooked up to each treadmill so I end up running on a treadmill instead of outside. I just ran 5.75 miles! But it drives me crazy when people only walk on the treadmill, if your going to walk, walk outside with the fresh air! Hey, is Brian also getting in shape?
I actually hate to run on the treadmill - really to work out in a gym. I would rather get my work out by doing kickboxing, dancing, playing basketball, swimming, skiing - anything but going to a gym. So it is hard for me to consistently work out - I get bored easily. But running outside, especially in beautiful Vermont is entertaining and I enjoy it.
Brian has said he wanted to start working out since I started in Jan. but he hasn't really done much besides ski until recently, but he hurt his knee so I don't know how that will go. We don't really work out together because we like to do different things.
