There were a couple of things from yesterday that I thought were strange or scary. First, we stopped at a rest stop and as I went to walk into the restrooms there was a big sign that said "Watch for Snakes". I thought, what do you mean watch for snakes? I was so scared; I peered into every corner and crevasse slowly and cautiously waiting for a snake to attack. I was not happy with Texas at that point. Then as we traveled down the I-10 freeway across Texas and near the Rio Grande there was a sign that said, "Freeway Closed" once again I thought, what do you mean freeway closed? Yep, the freeway was closed and so we had to pass through border patrol. Luckily we didn't have to stop, they just waved us through. I just kept thinking, did we just go through Mexico? Later, we heard on the news that the U.S. was looking for some illegal immigrants. It seemed like a lot of hassle for just a couple of illegal immigrants.
Alright, on to day Three.
I have realized that Texas is very proud of themselves, everything is in the shape of Texas.
Our drive was very short, we only went to Houston. Our first stop was Millie Bush Dog Park. It was extremely hot and humid, but I think the dogs had a lot of fun. We met up with some good friends from Las Vegas, who recently moved to Texas (Dan and Heidi).
We then went to San Jacinto Battle Ground. The monument looked very similar to the Washington monument in D.C.
We walked the battle ground and were able to look at the ship from the outside, but we were too late to take the inside tour. The battle was the Texas revolution, when Texas gained its independence from Mexico.
Lastly we headed down to the Gulf of Mexico to Kemah. It's a boardwalk with games, rides, restaurants and a beautiful view. Tonight they were having a concert, so we walked around and listened to the music. We strolled through the little shops, watched the fish jump out of the water to catch bugs and played a boardwalk game.

By the time the day was over, I was exhausted, sticky and probably stinky, so we took a quick dip in the pool and headed to bed.

I am glad that you guys were able to see Heidi and Dan. I miss seeing you guys in Vegas.
I am glad you guys are getting to your places safely. Seem slike you have had a LONG trip already hope it gets better for you guys!!
They do grow bugs, spiders and snakes bigger in Texas.
Texas independence from Mexico was in 1836. The ship in your picture was most likely from WWII, some 100 years later.
