Vermont or Bust! - Day 4 - Humid Houston

Its been four days since we have left Vegas and I feel like its been forever since I have been there. Nicole and I were ready to leave and get started with the next stage of our life. We were glad to get out of the dry Vegas heat, but for the next few days we are going to have to stick it through the humid/sticky heat. Ever since I moved out west I always said that I missed the humidity....I am still trying to decide if I really did miss it or not.

The Shelton's (our friends we are staying with) took us to a park so we could take the dogs out for a morning walk, we had the opportunity to see some wildlife that you don't get to see in Vegas.
From a distance you can see that there is something out on the water sunbathing.

I was able to zoom in and get a pretty good shot of the Alligator.

These three wild creatures were not natural to the area.

The park was an open city park, there were no fences or barriers to prevent the gators from coming right up to us. We didn't have any close encounters and the only one we saw was the one pictured, but it was scary and fun to be walking in an area where gators are free to roam.

We spent most of our day at the NASA Space Center. I hope I don't get in trouble for posting some of these photos. We were able to take a tour of the Astronaut training facility, they showed us some of their new equipment and how the astronauts perfect their space jams.

This is the training area where the astronauts get to play on pretend space ships.

They didn't mention anything about this suit in the tour, but I was able to zoom in with the camera and get a decent shot of it.

This is the new moon rover that they are testing, they said it could parallel park really easily. I need to get one of these for Nicole.

After the guided tour of the astronaut facility we were able to look at all the exhibits in the main museum area.
Nicole thought she could be the pilot for one of the space shuttles.

We caught some of the Astronauts in the middle of their zero gravity exercises.

I took this photo right after I had Nicole get in so she could be launched back to her own little world that she claims to come from.

We enjoyed our trip to NASA with our friends, the Sheltons, and we are looking forward to our trip tomorrow to New Orleans!
