Today at the Law school, they had a MLK Jr/Presidential Inauguration celebration. It was about an hour long, but I think it ran a little over because the inauguration started late. It was an interesting experience. Although I have voted before, I have never watched an inauguration; but was there a re-inauguration or re-swearing in for President Bush?
When Vice-President Biden was taking his oath, I leaned over and asked Brian what would happen if they can't remember what the person just said to them. Brian said that would never happen. I told him that if I became president, I would be so nervous it was sure to happen. So it was funny to me when President Obama stumbled at the begining of the oath.
I also thought it was weird that people were chanting OBAMA!-OBAMA!, like we were at a rock concert and he was the main act. But what I really felt was that I wish I was there.
An old boss of mine, was working at the inauguration, he was working with the company who was in charge of all the transportation for the event. He asked me if I wanted to come live in Washington DC for a couple of month, get paid and work with him. That would have been a really fun opportunity, but I have a job here that I could not leave. So when I was watching the Inauguration, I had the little thought in the back of my head that, I could have been there! Even if you are not an Obama fan, it would have been neat to be there, at an acutal historical event, like you read in the history books.
I don't agree with all of Obama's appointments and decisions, but I'm looking forward to a change. A change, that I think he can bring.

It actually wasn't Obama who choked on the oath. The guy reading it to Obama read the oath wrong, Obama knew that so he only repeated the part that was right. If you watch it again you'll see Obama recite only a small part and then nod to the guy reading the oath.
Actually, they both messed up. Obama started before he was supposed to and then the guy read it wrong. Which Obama recited wrong as well.

Another note to add, Obama will most likely have to retake the oath of office since it was done incorrectly. -B-
Yep, Obama retook the oath today. That will silence the conspiracy theorists saying that he never officially became President.
