The Art of ...

... Wine Slurpee Tasting

I really L-O-V-E Slurpees, but I am a Slurpee Snob as Brian would say.  There is an art to drinking a fine Slurpee.  And I will tell you how to do it for yourself:

Step 1:
Sometimes, actually a lot of the time, you must visit multiple 7-elevens to find the perfect Slurpee.  When finding the perfect Slurpee you must first look at the swirling goodness and then test it by pouring some out.  This not only gets out the old melted Slurpee but you can be sure you like consistency and flavor by letting it drip on to your finger.  If you don't find a top notch Slurpee just leave, don't worry there is most likely another 7-eleven less than a mile down the road.

Step 2:
Picking the right cup for your Slurpee is an important task, the smallest cup is the best because you can finish it before it starts to melt into a slushy instead of a slurpee (I bet you didn't know there is a difference, but there is!).

Step 3:
When filling the cup do not, let me repeat DO NOT pound the cup on the counter so that you can fit more in.  This destroys the integrity of the Slurpee.  You want your Slurpee to be light and fluffy.

Step 4:
If you have done all the steps correctly so far, you should be able to sip the slurpee through a straw and get a fluffy flavor.  If you get just the jucie and are left with dull flavored ice or if it's too thick and you have to eat it with the spoon at the end of your straw then your Slurpee experience is not up to par.  Even if your Slurpee is in pristine condition you will still need to utilize the Slurpee Swirl.  Its a gentle twisting of the wrist that sets the fluffy flavor in motion.

With this grand knowledge you your Slurpee Tasting experience should be heightened...

... Just Kidding (well kind-of)...

Now go Enjoy a Slurpee!

I love slurpees! Especially Pina Colada, which is getting increasingly hard to find...although there are no 7-11's here...closest on is in Austin
